Dermaroller Microneedling Treatment
Genuine Dermaroller Microneedling Therapy
Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ is a non-surgical option that works to improve the condition of the skin from within by boosting the skin’s own healing mechanisms.
It can significantly improve the appearance of:
- Acne scars
- Aged and sun damaged skin
- Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ provides advanced micro-medical skin-needling, a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.
It works by intentionally injuring the skin with a series of tiny wounds that work to stimulate healing and collagen production. The over healing effect diminishes pores skin and breaks up acne scarring.

Dr Perry and his team use unique techniques to provide the maximum results achievable.
Our doctors are able to use more advanced Dermaroller techniques than many other practitioners, as we use the strongest prescription creams and the use of local anaesthetic to ensure the patient does not feel any pain.
We often have patients that come from other clinics as not only is it less painful but we can be more advanced in what we do in terms of the microneedling. This means that results are seen quicker and less treatment sessions are needed.
What results can I expect?
The appearance of the skin can be improved both in terms of:
- smoother texture
- softer skin
- more even coloration and skin tone
- healthy complexion
When will I see results from Dermaroller Microneedling?
After a Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis.
This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced.
It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
How many sessions will I need?
Your Aesthetic Doctor will normally recommend that your Genuine Dermaroller® treatment consists of a series of 2-4 Genuine Dermaroller® procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them.
In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Genuine Dermaroller® Therapy, carrying out up to five procedures.

Dermaroller Procedure
Dermaroller® is a special medical device that produces thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin.
- Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day.
- The process of rollering over the skin with this tool stimulates the skin’s healing processes and production of collagen in a very gentle yet effective way, essentially forcing the skin’s own natural ability to heal itself.
- An additional benefit of micro-needling is that it allows carefully chosen skincare creams and/or serums to penetrate deeply into the skin to accentuate their benefit.
How long will Dermaroller Therapy take?
Depending on the area being treated, a medical-grade Genuine Dermaroller® Therapy procedure normally takes around 20-30 minutes. This doesn’t include time for the consultation beforehand and also doesn’t include any ‘waiting time’ for the anaesthetic cream to work.
What type of Dermaroller do you use?
Cosmedics Skin Clinics use the genuine branded Dermaroller® which is completely sterile and has titanium pins. This is the brand name for a professional micro-needling tool – a barrel-like roller with many tiny pins which create pricks all over the surface of the skin. Dermaroller is a highly effective medical-grade professional tool and should not be compared to the cheaper home rollers.
Will Microneedling hurt?
Your practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable. It will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and the Doctor will check before starting the full microneedling.
Can microneedling really help acne scarring?
Although acne is most commonly associated with the teens and early twenties, it can leave its tell-tale scars for a lifetime. The process of rolling over the skin with Dermaroller stimulates the skin’s natural healing processes and production of collagen. Dermaroller can even be effective at treating active acne and old or pitted scars. A course of treatment may be recommended for best results. This will be fully discussed at your consultation.
