Simple safe and gentle treatments
If you have an irritating fleshy piece of skin that sticks out the chances are this is a skin tag. These are harmless but can be annoying and patients’ often just want to get rid of them as they are often in visible areas such as the face, eyelids, neck, underarm and groin.
Most skin tags are 2-3mm in size and larger skin tags (papillomas) can reach 5mm or more.
If you are unsure about any new or changing skin lesions having a skin check with a doctor may be a good idea.
Skin Tag Removal costs from only £250
The NHS considers skin tags cosmetic and therefore does not offer treatments.
At Cosmedics our doctors are happy to help with a range of treatment options that can remove the skin tags in one appointment. These include cryotherapy (freezing), surgical excision or laser treatment. We also offer anal skin tag and vaginal skin tag removal.
We charge £50 for a skin tag removal consultation with one of our experienced doctors.
Prices for treatments carried out in the same appointment as the consultation will include the £50 consultation fee (note: same-day procedures are only undertaken where the procedure is deemed appropriate to do so AND the patient understands the full extent of the costs, risks and potential side effects and is consenting to proceed on that knowledge).
Cryotherapy / Freezing
For small skin tag removal, cryotherapy or freezing treatment is a quick cheap option but can mean the tag has a few days of hanging around before it falls off.
Excison / Laser
The skin tag can be excised / snipped off under local anaesthetic to ensure the tag has gone and wont recurr. This is the best for all types of skin tags, small, difficult areas, large tags or numerous skin tags.
Treatment is available privately in all our London and Bristol skin clinics. It is not available on the NHS.
Often takes 5-7 days to heal however can resume normal activities straight away
No or minimal scarring
|Skin Tags||Cost||Histology* Cost|

|Skin tag removal (large/multiple)||from £310||£85|

*The £50 consultation fee is redeemable against the price of skin tag removal treatment when carried out at the same appointment as the consultation (note: same day procedures are only undertaken where the procedure is deemed appropriate to do so AND the patient understands the full extent of the costs, risks and potential side effects and is consenting to proceed on that knowledge).
Most skin tags don’t need histology testing however in certain circumstances if the doctor thinks it is necessary then they will discuss this with you and the related costs.

Skin tags treatment tends to be only necessary if they are cosmetically causing you discomfort. They can often be unsightly or embarrassing as well as catching on clothes and getting irritated.
