More about Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are an injectable product specifically to fill out lines and wrinkles of the face that are caused by the effects of ageing.

Our patients love the filler results that give them a natural lift and fullness to their face that makes them look fresher and younger.

At all our clinics dermal fillers are injected by experienced uk doctors and not nurses or beauticians.

These are medical procedures and as such should be done in a safe infection free environment by experts who can professionally assess your suitability. Our prices are not that much more expensive than cheaper salons but you are guaranteed peace of mind for a professional treatment.

The dermal fillers are injected into the the top layers of the skin to fill out the areas of depleted collagen that has worn away with the constant creasing in certain areas of the face. The main areas that fillers treat are the nose to mouth lines (nasolabial folds) , mouth lines, cheek lines, frown lines and eye lines. Higher grade filler can also be used to enhance cheeks, chins and reshape the nose (non surgical rhinoplasty).

The beauty of non-permanent fillers is that they can be added to gradually with time so the facial structure is able to be naturally enhanced as the ageing process occurs.

The injections are now used with anaesthetic in the actual filler to ensure that the treatments are not painful. For certain procedures numbing cream can also be applied that maybe in more sensitive areas such as the mouth and lips.

After the procedure the filler results are immediate and you can see the full rejuvenated results of your skin that same day. Often our patients say their friends comment on how well they look and less tired as well as a little younger.

What is a dermal filler ?

Dermal filler is the name for products that are used for anti-ageing to fill out and remove lines wrinkles on the face. They can be of many types but they are mainly dissolvable and made up of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural product that is commonly part of our natural skin.

What is the best dermal filler ?

The best dermal fillers are non-permanent but able to be adapted to the skin as it ages. They are also soft and stay where they are injected but dissolve gradually over 8-12 months. The products vary and at our clinics we only used the highest standard fillers but have a large product range so we can tailor each product for the best result.

How much does dermal filler cost ?

Dermal fillers cost from £380 for the facial injections to smooth out and get rid of wrinkles. The cost depends on the amount of dermal filler injected.

Do collagen dermal fillers work better?

No collagen dermal fillers have been superseded by the latest hyaluronic acid fillers that we currently use as they don’t cause allergic reactions like older collagen products do and last longer. Collagen dermal fillers are now rarely used.

What about permanent fillers?

Permanent fillers are not normally recommended for cosmetic procedures unless it is for reconstructive work.

What is the best areas of the face for fillers?

Dermal fillers are mainly used for nose to mouth lines, frown lines, cheek & chin enhancements.

When will I see results?

The anti-ageing result is seen immediately and lasts for up to 1 year. A lot of our patients often comment on how well it lasts as we inject it into the correct area of the skin to ensure if not only lasts but can also stimulate your own collagen to be produced.

What else can dermal face fillers be used for ?

Dermal fillers of the face can also be used as part of a “non-surgical facelift”.

Doctors may also be able to skilfully use fillers to correct contours of the nose (non surgical rhinoplasty), help with acne scars that are pitted or indented and lastly for lip enhancements.

What are the side effects of dermal fillers ?

Side effects from dermal fillers are rare and mainly associated with the injection itself that can cause some temporary redness and mild swelling that can last a day or so. Occasionally some bruising may be visible but this can normally be easily concealed and often fades after a few days. In some instances where the product has been incorrectly injected as we often see this in patients who have had it injected by an inexperienced or unqualified person the areas can go lumpy and be in the wrong position. This often then requires dissolving which has to be done by a doctor.

Can botulinum toxin and fillers be used together ?

Yes often other wrinkle injections can be used to help turn back time and create a more youthful appearance and at our cosmetic skin clinic we aim to create a natural soft look that our patients really like.

We offer dermal fillers at all our London and Bristol skin treatment centres.

All treatments are carried out by skilled and experienced Aesthetic Doctors.

    1. Sorry, we don’t offer payment plans. Lip filler treatment costs from £300 with our aesthetic doctors. The consultation fee is waived if you wish to go ahead and have treatment on the same day, but there’s no obligation so this is a good opportunity to simply find out more.

    1. The price is for both cheeks. We don’t use permanent fillers, our doctors favour the new generation of longer-lasting temporary fillers instead, such as Juvederm VOLUMA (hyaluronic acid based) or Sculptra injections (collagen-stimulating).

    1. Botox can help in some cases, it depends on the nature of the problem. If you’d like to email a photo to info@cosmedics.co.uk we’ll ask Dr Ross Perry to provide some individual advice. This doesn’t replace a consultation, but can be a very useful guide in advance of arranging your first appointment.

Lydia is absolutely superb in giving a caci treatment. My very first treatment was with her a a one-off and due to the excellent result I booked a series of caci treatments in Southampton where I live. I’ve also had treatments in Scotland whilst on holiday there and I am very impressed by Lydia’s treatments. She is also very animated and friend,y without being intrusive when I feel like being quiet. I would thoroughly recommend her caci treatment.

I had a growth removed near my nose via shave excision by Dr Rhys James in the Bristol clinic. He was very calm and friendly and really put me at ease, the procedure didn't hurt at all. I had the growth sent for a histology and got the results back within two weeks and am healing well. Highly recommend!

I had a hydrafacial with Georgia and absolutely loved it. Not only was Georgia a lovely girl but performed one of the best hydrafacials I’ve had yet. She included my neck which not many places do and when I asked her to focus on my chin area, she payed extra attention there. Thanks Georgia!
