MSN investigated just how effective vitamin C serum could be in anti-ageing treatments – with advice from Cosmedics Skin Clinics founder Dr Ross Perry.

The article is entitled:

“All you need to know about vitamin C serums”

In skin care products, vitamin C has antioxidant properties and can stimulate collagen production, which can improve the signs of ageing, such as lines or wrinkles.

MSN says:

“While many moisturisers contain vitamin C, serums with the ingredient are proving to be particularly popular due to their higher concentrations, which allow beauty lovers to get the most out of their skincare buys.”

Dr. Ross Perry, medical director of Cosmedics Skin Clinics, was invited to give expert advice. He said:

“Not only are vitamin C serums great for their anti-ageing benefits but they can also help protect your skin from damage, especially the harmful UVA and UVB rays. However, they aren’t substitutes for using sunscreens. Vitamin C serums can rejuvenate your skin, reducing fine lines and making it appear plumper and brighter. They can also help to even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of under-eye circles.”

Vitamin C serum should be applied to clean skin morning and evening. Dr Perry continues:

“Allow the serum to soak into the skin before using moisturiser and applying make-up. Repeat the same process as part of your evening skin routine.
