Facial Fillers
Dermal fillers are produced specifically to fill out lines and wrinkles of the face that are caused by the effects of ageing. Our patients love the results that fillers give - a natural lift and fullness that makes them look fresher and younger.
At Cosmedics, dermal fillers are injected by experienced uk doctors and not nurses or beauticians.
Facial filler injections are a very popular choice for restoring the lost volume and filling deep lines and creases that occur naturally over time. These wrinkle fillers are tiny painless injections that work simply by adding volume exactly and precisely where it's needed for a smooth finish.
Popular areas for filling lines and creases include frown lines and nose to mouth lines.
Fillers can also be used purely aesthetically, to add contours to define and enhance certain facial features, such as the cheekbones or for lip enhancement.
The latest generation of deep fillers, such as Sculptra, allows filling of larger areas and hollows, such as below the eyes or in the cheeks.
Fillers are ideal for anyone who wants to look fresher and younger without the need for surgery.
Cosmedics Clinics only use non-permanent fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm for facial injections. Treatments cost from £250, depending on the area and treatment.
Dermal filler treatments are available at all our BOTOX® and filler clinics in London and Bristol.

Modern Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
The latest fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a substance found naturally in the body and in the skin. Hyaluronic acid holds water and therefore acts to hydrate the skin and preserve moisture levels in the dermis and boost skin tone, giving it volume and smoothness. Naturally-occurring levels of hyaluronic acid diminish with age, but injectable fillers target areas where it can be restored to smooth the skin.
Products
We now stock the latest Juvederm and Restylane ranges with local anaesthetic in the product so the treatments are now much quicker and virtually pain free.
Restylane and Juvederm are the market leaders in the field of cosmetic injection treatments known as wrinkle fillers or dermal fillers. These anti-ageing treatments are available at all our clinics and are ideal for removing the lines from the skin on the face:
- Nose to mouth lines, cheek lines, frown and eye lines
- Lip lines and lip enhancement
Restylane is a hyaluronic acid gel used in facial injections to rejuvenate ageing skin. It is perfectly safe and has been used for many years for facial rejuvenation. Occasionally we use Perlane for deeper lines and folds, particularly in men. Juvederm ultra is ideal for a softer look in younger patients.
For the total skin facelift by plumping out the cheeks and lifting jowls we recommend Sculptra.
Fillers and BOTOX® can also be used together to create a full non surgical face lift.

Do facial fillers help the removal of wrinkles?
Facial fillers like Restylane and Juvederm Ultra injections are an ideal anti-wrinkle treatment for facial rejuvenation and anti-ageing. Ideally for anyone wanting to have some removal of lines by filling them out especially for the nose to mouth area, crow's feet (lines around the eyes) or lines around the mouth. Many patients also choose to have this filler treatment to plump up thin upper lips, restoring a nice youthful look. Patients who would like to redefine and soften the contours of their face also turn to dermal fillers as the results are so natural and subtle.
What is the best facial filler to use?
There are lots of different types of filler that are used for filling out lines; each has different benefits and effects.
Restylane and Perlane
These are our most popular alternatives to collagen replacement therapy and do not require an initial 28-day skin test. Restylane and Perlane are dermal fillers consisting of a non-animal clear gel that will help smooth your wrinkles and folds and create contours. It can also be used to provide lip enhancement if required. Restylane and Perlane will generally remain in the treated area for some months following your treatment, giving it natural-looking volume and contours. Restylane is used for fine lines whilst Perlane is used for deeper wrinkles and folds.
Juvederm Ultra
Another natural facial line filler with the advantage of built-in anaesthetic for a more comfortable experience. It does not last as long as restylane but does give a softer look and is particularly useful for our younger patients.
Sculptra
Designed to help alleviate unwanted lines and wrinkles, leaving your face feeling both smoother and firmer as well as younger-looking. It is based on Poly-L-actic acid which, when injected into a line or wrinkle, not only fills out the area but also starts to stimulate natural production of new collagen. So, in addition to minimising the wrinkle, you also benefit from a continued natural restructuring process for months after completion of your treatment. A series of treatments is recommended over a 12-week period. Results are visible usually after 2 sessions but 3 sessions are recommended for best effect. The results can last up to 3 years.
Are the anti-wrinkle injections painful?
No, as doctors do all the treatments we are able to use local anaesthetic injections which allow the treatment to be pain-free and comfortable.
How long will it take to administer the facial fillers?
Depending on the area treated, approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
What results can I expect from facial fillers like Restylane or Juvederm?
The results will be immediate. Your skin will be smoother and younger-looking. Once any swelling has subsided the results will be subtle and pleasing. See our before and after results.
Are there any side-effects from having these anti-wrinkle rejuvenation treatments?
With dermal fillers there can be redness, swelling and bruising, which is normal and which does subside.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes. There will be a little redness, slight swelling and occasionally a small bruise that may last 1 to 2 days. These can all be covered with make-up.
Can fillers for the face be used with Botox®?
Yes, sometimes to create the best effect they can be used together. Botox injections>
How much do dermal fillers cost?
Prices for fillers start from £250. Prices are subject to consultation and depend on the area to be treated, amount of fillers used and brand recommended.
How easy is it to get these treatments done?
Once you have made a booking your consultation will be with one of our doctors. You will be able to discuss all the treatment options and decide what is the best procedure for you. Facial filler treatments can be done at the same initial appointment, if you are happy to go ahead, by the same doctor.
What else can fillers be used for?
The hyaluronic acid gel that is made by cross linking to ensure the longevity and durability also enables this product to be used for medical purposes outside of cosmetic medicine. Examples of such are for back pain where the gel is re injected into the disc of a old vertebral disc to help increase the disc space between the bones of the back so they dont rub and irriate the surrouding nerves that cause the pain. Filler injections are also used for areas where knee cartilage has worn away through over use or injury. Rare uses are for clitoral stimulation or vaginal rejuvenation or in some cases to help with bladder incontinence by raising the neck of the bladder upwards. Trials have also been ongoing for anal fistulas but have not had a great deal of success so far.
