Upper Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift) Treatment Video & Photos

Heidi shares her experience of having upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) at Cosmedics Skin Clinics in London.

She explains what brought her to have this minor surgical procedures, as well as how she feels about it:

“I can’t help but notice how kind of, sort of saggy the skin is; and also I think it had made me look very tired.

“When Dr Perry suggested it and um yeah I felt really excited that I was actually going to do something for me – just for me – that will make me feel hopefully kind of better, more confident and happier in myself.

“…yeah, really nice to treat myself I suppose.”

Surgeon Mr Michail Malandrakis FEBOPHTH L7CERT(AESTH) explains what’s involved in the procedure:

“Heidi is a very good candidate for an upper blepharoplasty or commonly known as an eyelid lift. It involves the removal of the excess heavy eyelid skin that is creating a holding or tight appearance.

“Blepharoplasty is suitable for many women over the years of 40. However, there’s not really an age limit.

“Blepharoplasty is typically done here at Cosmedics and takes about one hour. It’s done under local anaesthetic and [patients are] able to go home straight after.”

Heidi describes the experience in clinic:

“So the procedure itself was quite quick and the team looked after me really well. The anaesthetic was quite uncomfortable and afterwards I had quite significant bruising; but I didn’t really have any pain and I didn’t have to take any pain relief after the first night. But obviously that’s all gone now and I’m super happy I had it done!”

Surgeon Mr Malandrakis continued:

“The incisions are typically made within the eyelid crease, which makes them almost invisible and there might be a little bit of redness on the outer corner of the eyelid that fades away over a few weeks.

Heidi said:

“It’s nice because it’s not sort of too dramatic, it hasn’t changed kind of my face and what I look like, and I wanted something that was natural but just sort of complemented I suppose me and sort of took a few years off hopefully and just maybe look less tired and a bit happier with myself when I look in the mirror so… and I got that, so yeah!”

Surgeon Mr Malandrakis concluded by saying that this procedure is ideal for patients who:

“They want to look younger, fresher with more open eyes.”
