Zoom Calls Boost Eye Lift Enquiries
As Featured on ITV This Morning
Dr Ross Perry told This Morning that online video conferencing while people work from home has caused an increase in people wanting to perk up their tired appearance.
The programme featured the experience of 57 year old Helen, who chose to have upper blepharoplasty, otherwise known as an eyelift, after feeling embarrassed about her own appearance in video calls.
She said:
“I’ve not done it because I want to look younger, I want to look 57, I don’t want to look older and I don’t want to look tired.”
She describes how months of video conferencing had led to her decision to have eye rejuvenation surgery:
“The first time when I first did it, I thought “Oh wow”.
“I was almost a bit embarrassed. So as the months went on I thought “why not?”.”

Eye Rejuvenation Trends
Dr Ross Perry, founder of Cosmedics Skin Clinics, was invited to appear on the show. He explained that he’s seen an influx in influx in enquiries for BOTOX wrinkle relaxing injections and dermal fillers, which he attributes to staring at ourselves video calls. He said that ‘frowning at computer screens’ has meant more clients want BOTOX to smooth out the upper forehead area. Others were choosing facial fillers to lift and refresh the face, tackling the ‘tired and haggard’ appearance.
“I feel with the whole selfie era increasing how we perceive ourselves; now we’ve been looking at Zoom all day and we see ourselves in a real light.
“We’ve had a number of inquiries for Botox and a number of other procedures – it’s something I wasn’t expecting from a lockdown.
“BOTOX, everyone is frowning at a computer screen, new patients are coming in and saying it’s a reason.
“Other things are facial fillers, mouth lines and the cheeks, just trying to make them look less tired.
“The other ones are eye lifts and it’s just to prevent people looking tired and haggard and so forth, and unfortunately this lockdown has made people pretty low.”
He pointed out that unflattering lighting and cameras were also an issue:
“I think unfortunately we all have awful lighting and our positions in front of the camera.”
Helen’s Blepharoplasty
at Cosmedics Skin Clinics
57 year old Helen Fearon chose Cosmedics Skin Clinics for her eye lift.
This procedure works to rejuvenate the eye area by removing excess skin and fat, getting rid of the ‘droopy eyelids’ that can be so ageing. In severe cases, saggy skin can even make it hard to see properly.
Cosmedics Skin Clinics now offer this procedure as ‘day case surgery’ at their Harley Street and Putney clinics, based in London.
