Skin Expert Dr Ross Perry Advises Daily Mail

At 80, Rod Stewart still knew how to rock the Legends slot at Glastonbury this weekend and had many fans commenting on his remarkably youthful looks and fitness too.

Stewart showed that age is just a number, as he energetically performed, holding his own against artists who are decades younger.

The Daily Mail asked experts for their thoughts on how Sir Rod Stewart could be maintaining his appearance and vitality.

Dr Ross Perry, Aesthetic Expert and Medical Director of Cosmedics Skin Clinics, gave his opinions:

“Sir Rod Stewart looks incredible for his age, and in truth, should probably look decades older, especially considering the amount of time he’s spent in the sun over the years.”

Perry suggested that Sir Rod Stewart must invest in his health, saying he’

“takes care of himself.”

Adding that he:

“…always appears healthy, with a warm glow to his skin.”

Dr Perry explained:

“From an aesthetic perspective, I’d say he’s genetically blessed with good skin, which does run in families, but lifestyle plays a huge role.”

Important lifestyle factors include a healthy diet, minimal sun exposure, adequate sleep, and good skincare.

Dr Perry also agreed that Sir Rod may have had some anti-ageing treatments:

“It’s very possible Sir Rod has had a few subtle ‘tweakments’ over the years. These might include a minor eyelid lift to counteract drooping or hooded lids, which is very common with age, and perhaps a touch of Botox around the eyes to soften crow’s feet.

“His cheeks still look full, which often hollow with age, suggesting he may have had a small amount of dermal filler but if so, it’s been done very naturally and conservatively.”

He suggested this may also include dental work, adding:

“His teeth are also well-maintained, not unnaturally white or obviously veneered, but youthful and suited to his appearance. That’s likely the work of a skilled cosmetic dentist.”

Dr Perry noted that Sir Rod’s hair is a striking feature which makes him look a lot younger.

“It’s remained largely unchanged for the last four decades, still thick, lustrous and highlighted blonde which is rare for a man of his age, as most would be experiencing significant greying or hair thinning by now.

“His hair alone shaves years off his overall look.”
