Kelo-Cote® forms a bond with the outer layer of dead skin cells to form a protective layer over the skin. This layer forms a barrier against chemical, physical and microbial invasion of the scar site, yet the layer is gas permeable, flexible and waterproof. This layer protects the scar while it matures, and improves the physiological and cosmetic appearance of the scar. It also helps to keep the area hydrated, further assisting with healing.
