No, sebaceous hyperplasia are completely harmless. However, the lesions can sometimes look like those that appear with basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer. With all skin lesions, if there is any concern that the problem might be cancerous, it's best to get a proper diagnosis to rule out any concerns.
