- Bruxism (Teeth Grinding and Clenching) – chronic clenching or grinding of teeth, often stress-related or occurring during sleep, can significantly bulk up the masseter muscles.

Botox injections jaw slimming can create a more V-shaped or oval facial appearance by reducing the size of the masseter muscles – the muscles located on the sides of your jaw that are primarily responsible for chewing.
Botox, or botulinum toxin type A, is a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyses muscles by blocking nerve signals.
When used for jaw slimming treatment, the botulinum toxin is carefully and precisely injected into the masseter muscles at the side of the jaw, which are responsible for chewing. The Botox treatment temporarily weakens the overdeveloped masseter muscles, which helps to reduce its size, effectively narrowing the jawline.
It will have no impact on your ability to talk or chew. However, you may notice improvements if you’ve also suffered from grinding your teeth.

Botox treatment for jaw slimming FAQs
The procedure involves several small injections of Botox directly into the targeted jaw muscles. The number of injections and the dosage will depend on the severity of your bruxism and the size of your muscles
Immediately after the injections, you will likely be advised to avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for a few hours, and to remain upright for about 4 hours.
As with all Botox treatmnets, we discourage strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and hot temperatures (like saunas) for the rest of the day or for 24 hours.
Some patients experience mild and temporary side effects like soreness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site. In some cases, there are no side-effects at all.
There is typically minimal downtime after Botox injections. Most patients choose return to their normal activities immediately.
The effects of Botox are temporary, typically lasting for 4-5 months. Over time, the nerve signals will gradually return, and muscle activity will resume. To maintain the slimmer jawline, repeat treatments are necessary.
However, with repeated treatments, some individuals may experience a longer duration of results as the muscles may undergo more significant atrophy.
