Laser treatments at our practice are often combined with surgical techniques to give patients the best outcomes possible with mole removal.

All mole removal methods will leave some degree of a small blemish, but we are able to minimize this with our latest procedures that are not only quick but you don’t feel any discomfort either.

Which is the best laser?

There are a variety of lasers used in mole removal and the reason or this is there are lots of different types of moles. Moles can be colored or clear; flat or raised or a combination of both. Once our expert skin doctor has assessed your mole we can choose the best treatment for your particular mole.

  • Radiosurgery is a high frequency ‘laser like‘ method that allows treatment of moles, warts, verruca and skin tags without discomfort. This is a precise technique that cuts the moles away from the skin leaving almost no bleeding as it cauterizes the wound with a special magic-wand like device.
  • IPL ( intense pulse light) can be used for more superficial pigmentation like freckles.
  • Nd Yag and KTP can be used in lesions that are deeper.
  • CO2 surgery simply evaporates the mole away.

Each has their own merits. Patients at Cosmedics will always get unbiased advice and who would be the most appropriate laser specialist to see. We refer to laser specialists for difficult moles if we feel this would give a better result.

Laser mole removal clinics are available in the City, Knightsbridge, Harley Street, Putney and Bristol clinics.

Further Information

* Histology or mole testing – It is our policy that ALL mole specimens deemed appropriate are sent for testing for ultimate peace of mind. This involves the mole that is removed being sent to another laboratory where it is examined by a doctor to ensure all the layers of the skin are normal. Very occasionally even moles that look fine after removal can be found to have abnormalities lower down. This microscopic histopathology testing is the only 100% guarantee the mole is normal.

** Doctor consultations are purely for the moles patients request to have assessed for removal and do not constitute a full body mole check. This is available as a separate service for a top-to-toe review of your skin and identification of any worrying lesions.

Prices above are a guide to the costs and the exact price can only be determined once the doctor has examined the mole and advice given as to the best way of removal. Larger and more complex moles are likely to incur a higher fee.

Our aim to to provide a first class service however we cannot guarantee that treatment is possible until the lesion / mole has been seen by our doctor; whose individual advice takes precedence over any previous information given.

Only once you have been assessed can we give you a full recommendation on what is your best treatment option.

Occasionally that may mean a referral to another specialist whether it by for a different type of laser or for the complexity of the concern.

  1. Hi my name is Amy,
i’m in my early teens and have 2 small moles on my face. i have been looking at getting them removed as they have got slightly bigger over the years. i looked at the Laser Mole Removal and the results look great!

    1. Hi Claire, prices do depend on the individual patient and your moles/cysts would need to be assessed to confirm the price. As a guide, Mole Removal starts at £295 for the first mole if it can be removed via laser or shave excision. Costs start at £350 for ellipse excision and cyst removal starts at £450. Skin treatment prices. For a proper assessment and quotation, please contact us to arrange a doctor appointment. This costs £50, which is redeemable against treatment on the day.

  2. I have very tiny moles over my cheeks . They are less a millimeter . Any recommendations , would laser work for small moles ?

    1. Treatments for these tiny moles can be difficult as they are so small and we can’t guarantee the doctor will be to treat them. We can really only tell with a consultation, although we may be able to give some initial assessment from a photo which you could email to

  3. I was just wondering what would need to happen and the price of getting a mole removed being larger than normal ones on my leg please? It’s approximately an inch in diameter.

    1. We would first recommend you see your GP first due to the size. If it is not suitable for the nhs then do come back to us. You could send in a photo with a ruler next it to show its size and our doctors can give an opinion. However, if you have any concerns about the mole then a face-to-face GP appointment is the first point of call.

  4. hi
i have a flat beauty spot on my face in between my eyebrows and i hate it … im scared if i remove it it will leave a mark …. and how much will it cost please help and reply

    1. All procedures leave a scar but this is often less noticeable than the mole itself. The best way to find out is with a doctor consultation, which costs £50, but is redeemable against treatment on the day. Mole removal costs from £295 for laser or shave excision. Flat moles more often need to be removed by excision with stitches (which costs from £350). All moles need to be assessed by doctor first to determine the best outcome. Mole removal at Cosmedics is for patients over 18.

  5. Hi I have a mole on my nose which I would like to be removed, I understand a doctor’s review is recommended and required before any treatment. If I emailed a picture for initial assessment how much information could this give me?

  6. Hi. I am 16 and am considering having a mole on my cheek removed. It’s, I find, slightly more prominent unlike my regular two ‘beauty spots’ (it has a slight bump). I have been doing some research and discovered that this is the best option. All that phases me is tht price and whether or not it’ll leave a scar. Thanks

    1. Laser mole removal costs £295 for the first mole plus £80 testing cost. All procedures leave a scar but this is often less noticeable than the mole itself. The best way to find out is with a doctor consultation. However, unfortunately we can only treat over 18′s at Cosmedics Skin Clinics.

    1. We have passed your details to our booking team. Alternatively you can call 020 7386 0464 to book. Thank you.

  7. I have a small mole that is about 3mm in diameter right on the end of my nose (to the left a bit, actually); it is quite light however sadly not enough to be invisible. It is raised to a small degree. What do you think the chances are of this being treatable?

  8. Hi, I have a small flat mole on the left side of my nose and it is a dark brown colour. I am not really keen on having it surgically removed so wanted to ask if it were possible to have it lasered?

    1. This sounds ideal for laser treatment, although a consultation and assessment is always required so that our doctors can view the lesion and advise the most suitable option (sometimes involves both surgery and laser for best results).

    1. Your beauty spot might actually be a mole anyway and certainly it should be possible to remove it. If you wish you can email a picture to or else book an appointment to have the beauty spot diagnosed, at which point our doctor would recommend the best course of action.

    1. Mole removal costs from £295 for laser or shave excision, which is usually appropriate for a small mole. However, this is subject to confirmation by a doctor after proper assessment. There is also a standard £80 histology (testing) fee.

    1. For smaller moles, laser would probably be the best solution, although this can only really be assessed in a consultation with one of our doctors. You can email a photo to for more informed advice, but this cannot replace a face to face consultation. Any mole removal is likely to leave some form of scarring. However, this will fade over time and our clients generally find this preferable to the moles themselves and far less noticeable once healed.

  9. Hi I have a mole that has come up within the last couple of months on the side of my face. it is raised and feels and looks more like a scab but it doesn’t come off. I went to GP who said that it looks like a mole but I need to keep an eye on it. I asked if I could have it taken off as its odd how it just appeared. He said that he couldn’t but I could pay 300 to have it removed at a clinic. I don’t want it taken off for cosmetic reasons I am just worried that it may be cancer. Is there anywhere I can go to just have it checked again.

    1. Dr Perry replies as follows: “With all lesions it is best to get it examined properly. I would doubt your GP would not recognise a skin cancer and hence the reassurance but the only way to be totally sure is to remove it and send if for histology / testing to rule anything worrying out.”
Cosmedics Skin Clinics cost for this service is £295 for the removal and £80 for the testing. You can always revisit your GP if you are really concerned as the other option and ask for a referral to a dermatologist on the NHS.

  10. Hi I have a mole under my left eyebrow I have been thinking of removing it but I am scared of any other skin side effect. Can you please let me know if I could remove this ?

    1. In general terms, you should expect some initial redness and there will be a scar, but after healing this is usually far less noticeable than the mole. For specific advice, you could email a photo of your mole to for our doctors to review.

  11. Hi what is the general waiting time on mole removal from booking a consultation to actually having the mole removed? Thanks

    1. Moles are most often removed in the same session as the consultation, provided the patient and doctor agree. This saves a return visit and keeps waiting times as short as possible.

  12. Hii i have 10 small moles on my face can you just find out the price me please and if i have enath money then i wll come and do it thank you

    1. We would need to examine the moles in order to give a price although if you can send a photo to we will try to give a guide in advance. This would then be confirmed after proper examination at your consultation. Our doctor would aim to do 3-4 in first session and review the healing before proceeding to remove further moles.

    1. We have 3 female doctors on our team. Availability does depending on the clinic you choose. Our appointments team can advise you further if you’d like to contact 020 7386 0464.

    1. Dr Ross Perry advises that it is generally ok to remove moles from the nipple, but it would be best to book to see him as it may require excision rather than laser treatment.

  13. hi im mariya and i have a birthmark mole that is about 2-3 centimetres big ? what should i do and how much would that cost??? many thanks

    1. Birthmarks are generally large and can be removed for cosmetic reasons. Surgical excision is the only real option for birthmarks. Treatment will leave a thin line scar at least 1/3 longer than the birth mark itself.

  14. Can you please confirm whether laser mole removal is suitable for people that tend to produce hypertrophic scars? I had two moles removed on my chest around 20 years ago as a precaution that left thick, raised scars. I would like to have others removed but only if the risk of further hypertrophic scaring is minimal.

    1. If you are prone to hypertrophic scars then unfortunately all removal methods could cause the same problems. If the procedure is being considered purely for cosmetic reasons then it would probably be advisable not to take the risk.
However, if there are other concerns about a mole (i.e. worrying appearance/behaviour) then it should always be checked out, as medical concerns must supersede any cosmetic issues.
