Genital Wart Removal

Fast, Effective and Discrete Private Treatment for Embarrassing Genital and Penis Warts

Genital warts are relatively commonplace and occur via sexual contact.

Most people don’t even know they have contracted the virus that causes genital warts (HPV) from a partner as warts can take years to show, so it is important not to suddenly accuse a partner as it could have been caught much earlier without realising it.

Often the resources to treat patients are limited and whilst therapies are available they often take a long time to work and occasionally fail.

Cosmedics Skin Clinics offer private treatment for genital warts, including:

  • penile warts/warts on the penis
  • scrotal warts/warts on the scrotum
  • groin warts
  • anal warts

Wart Removal Options

Wart removal techniques:

1. Cryotherapy / Freezing

For small warts and skin tags, freezing is the simplest and best method of removal. This usually involves applying some liquid nitrogen spray onto the lesion which then blisters for a few days before scabbing and falling off. With resistant warts sometimes a daily regime of paring down (with an emery board), then applying Occlusal cream to burn off the wart and then wrapping in tape is also required. However, in genital areas, these treatments are not always recommended.

2. Surgery (minor)

Minor surgery might be considered for stubborn warts or those that are in delicate places where freezing is inappropriate. The procedure is normally done with some anaesthetic so no pain is felt and is very simple and quick to do by simply snipping them off and cauterizing the base to stop recurrence.

3. Laser wart removal and wart removal surgery

This option is used for resistant warts that have failed to respond to all other methods and used specifically for thick larger warts or those intimate areas. It involves an injection to numb the warty area and then the whole wart is literally burned off leaving a wound that will take 1-2 weeks to heal.

Call us today to discuss your best wart removal options – we are happy to help answer any questions.

Our aim to to provide a first-class service however we cannot guarantee that treatment is possible until the lesion/warts have been seen by our doctor; whose advice takes precedence over any previous information given. Only once you have been assessed can we give you a full recommendation on what is your best treatment option. Occasionally that may mean a referral to another specialist whether it by for a different type of laser or for the complexity of the concern.
