Health & Wellbeing: ‘Sunny Days’ Beauty Tips

health wellbeing magazine

Health & Beauty magazine featured a series of beauty tips for ‘Sunny Days’, helping readers get the right products and beauty tips in place for the summer.

First up is SPF and Dr Ross Perry, founder of Cosmedics Skin Clinics, was asked to share his advice.

Tip 1 – SPF

With many years spent helping clients to deal with the unwanted effects of sun exposure – including premature lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, unwanted moles and even skin cancer in his NHS work – Dr Ross Perry is a leading authority on sun exposure.

He says:

“First and foremost, get back into the habit of using sunscreen every day.

“A lot of us will know that the sensible advice is to do this every day of the year, but if we’re honest, most people tend to slip over winter.

“If this is you, pop a bottle on your bathroom shelf so that you remember it every morning. There are some great non-greasy formulations that sit well under makeup and some tinted products that could even replace your foundation, so shop around.”

Tip 2 – Exfoliation

The second suggestion was to exfoliate regularly, a practice which helps to clean the skin by lifting dirt and dead skin cells for fresher, glowing skin which also absorbs products well too.

Dr Perry added:

“Don’t forget body areas need exfoliating too. You can do this at home – get a good body scrub or even a loofah to blitz dried out skin on the elbows, knees and legs before slathering in thick moisturiser overnight.”

Tip 6 – Foot Skin

Dr Ross Perry gave his advice on how to prepare the feet too:

“Warm days of sandals may seem distant now but, if you suffer from dry, cracked skin on your feet, it can take time to bring it back to something you’re happy to show off. There are plenty of specialist products for this, but they can take a few weeks to work on thick, dry skin. Start now for feet to be proud of.”

Summer Exfoliation

at London Beauty Centres

For an extra boost to summer skin, the team at Cosmedics Beauty recommend a professional exfoliation treatment to get rid of the dry dead skin cells that can accumulate over winter.

The Harley Street and Putney clinics offer a choice of chemical peels or microdermabrasion to leave skin looking and feeling superbly clean and soft with a glowing radiance.
