Skin Tags Treatment
Skin tags are small flaps or protruding pieces of skin that are attached to the body usually by a peduncle or stalk of skin. They can range in size, but do not usually exceed more than 5mm. Larger skin tags are called papillomas and often have greater blood supply which is why they grown so quickly.
Luckily a skin tag itself is a harmless condition, however they can be a cause of irritation through chaffing or a source of embarrassment if they are located in an obvious place such as the face or eyelids. If you find this is something you would like treated given the medical advances there is a range of simple treatments.
Skin tags are not a worrying condition and are bening however if you are unsure you should always have a skin check with a doctor.
Skin tags treatment tends to be only necessary if they are cosmetically causing you discomfort. The growths can be removed surgically by a doctor. The process will involve either the tag being snipped off with a scalpel or surgical scissors, cryotherapy, where it is removed by freezing or burnt off by laser treatment. Because skin tags are medically harmless, insurance companies do not cover such treatments and therefore we offer them at Cosmedics costing as little as £80.
