Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are incredibly common and generally harmless.  However, where they are in an awkward place, they can cause discomfort.  In fact, the most common reason skin tags develop is due to skin friction and rubbing.  

Skin tags are simply small growths of hanging skin, but they may keep reappearing after first developing.

Where they are prominent or visible, they can also be unsightly and embarrassing.

However skin tags are relatively easy to get rid of with a variety of specialist procedures at Cosmedics clinics. The team treat skin tags on the face and body.  Common areas include neck, groin and eyelid tags.

Treatment Options

1. For small skin tags, cryotherapy or freezing treatment is the quickest option.  This involves treating the tag with liquid nitrogen. This skin treatment is normally quite quick and easy to carry out, as well as being relatively pain free.
   
2. Alternatively, the skin tag can be excised.  A tiny painless injection of local anaesthetic will be administered just under the skin tag to numb just that part of the skin. A special dermablade is then used plane down the mole or lesion so it is flat on the skin.
   
3. For larger or more resistant areas, excision with stitches may be considered or else laser surgery treatment.
