A skin peel is a method used to soften and improve the appearance of your skin. It works by removing old, dead skin, enabling the healthy layers beneath to be at the surface. This new skin looks brighter and fresher with an overall new softer glow. These treatments are tailored specifically to your skin type and your daily routine.

We use 4 skin peels from Skin Tech and ICP Systems that allow us to treat the face, neck, chest and hands. These can help to:

Procedure

The doctor will assess your skin and will talk to you about the various types of skin peel we can offer. These are specifically tailored to your skin type and the condition of your skin.

Skin peels only take about 20 minutes, during which time you feel a mild warm sensation. It is not until 2 to 3 days later that the skin will have a reaction.

Sunlight must be avoided within the first 1 to 2 weeks after a peel and it is not possible to have a skin peel if you have a suntan.

The peels vary in strength from superficial ones that will allow you to return to normal daily activities immediately to ones which require a few days off work.

What you Need to Know

What do you need to do before a peel?

You will see our specialist doctor who will advise you on your home care programme, which is usually performed 2 to 3 weeks prior to your first peel.

How many peels do you need?

Usually a series of at least 2 to 4 very superficial and superficial peels are needed to treat ageing skin and acne scars.

For deep scars, lines and wrinkles, 1 to 2 medium peels may be needed.

What is it like afterward?

Superficial peels result in mild facial redness and occasional swelling, but this usually resolves within 48 hours.

Medium peels result in a more intense redness and possible swelling, which usually has a recovery time of 5 to 10 days.

Easy Phytic Peel

Strength: superficial

Exfoliates dead skin cells, smoothes and tightens open pores. Ideally a week or so before a special occasion as a treatment and once a month as maintenance.

Easy Peel TCA/Jessners

Strength: superficial to medium

This is considered to be the safest and easiest chemical peel. This two-layer skin peel works by exfoliating the top layer and then penetrating lower layers to stimulate collagen throughout all the layers of skin. No prior preparation is required and it allows patients to resume normal daily life.

Creates a marked improvement in skin tone and texture, and removes fine wrinkles. Helps with large open pores and sun-damaged skin.

ICP Concept Peel

Strength: superficial to medium

This is a uniquely formulated mask / peel that works best for irregular pigmentation of the skin. According to your skin type this peel is left on for 4 to 8 hours. The improvement in your skin can be dramatic. This peel can be repeated 1 to 3 months later to continue the improvement.

Unideep Blue Peel

Strength: medium

This is the strongest peel we advise. It is best for people who want a dramatic improvement in their skin tone. Dramatically reduces visible signs of ageing. Treatments can be done every 4 months.

Benefits

This skin peel is ideal for ageing skin that may have had high sun exposure and / or smoker-aged skin. It also helps reduce acne scarring. Less discomfort than traditional TCA peels yet with deeper penetration and exfoliation.
