The treatment is done by our cosmetic doctors and takes about 15 minutes. You will be able to carry on your day after the treatment without anyone noticing. Repeat treatments often make the results last longer.

Procedure

Prior to a BOTOX® line and wrinkle treatment

At your consultation with our doctor all your questions are answered and you are assessed for your suitability to proceed to have the treatment either at that appointment or a later date.

The line and wrinkle treatment

This can be performed after your consultation on the same day. It involves tiny injections directly into the wrinkles which results in temporarily relaxing the facial muscles and preventing the formation of wrinkles, whilst existing lines are softened.

Because a very fine needle is used, most patients find that there is only mild and temporary discomfort and the treatment only lasts a few minutes.

What happens after the treatment

We normally advise you to do some facial exercises to help move the anti-ageing botox injections into the muscles. There are no visible signs of having the treatment and make-up can be worn afterwards. The whole treatment session will only take 15 minutes so it can easily fit into your daily schedule. The wrinkles will be gone 3 to 7 days later.

What you Need to Know

Who will the BOTOX® line and wrinkle injections benefit?
Line and wrinkle treatments are ideal for anyone who has concerns about forehead creases, frown lines or crow's feet. The treatment still allows expressions as well as enabling people to look fresher, less tired, less stressed and ultimately younger. It's always a good idea to prevent wrinkles rather than having to deal with them as and when they appear and this is where the treatment is so effective.

Are the BOTOX® cosmetic injections safe?
Yes, it has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use and has been used for over 30 years without any known long-term problems.

How does BOTOX® work?
The Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve transmission to the muscles under the skin. Facial lines formed by the dynamic action of underlying muscles will then diminish or disappear. It is also used for preventing excessive perspiration in underarms and hands, see Excessive Sweating.

Who is suitable for this treatment?
It is suitable for most people apart from those who are pregnant or breast feeding.

How much does BOTOX® cost and the prices for each area?

Are line and wrinkle injections painful?
Not really, most people only experience a mild temporary discomfort.

How long will line and wrinkle smoothing injections take?
Line and wrinkle smoothing injections will usually take about 15 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated.

What difference will I see after the wrinkle treatment?

What can and can't I do after the BOTOX® treatment?
Within 4 hours of the treatment people are advised not to do vigorous exercise, drink excessive alcohol or lie down flat. Otherwise life can carry on as normal.

When will I notice a difference?
It starts to work in about 3 to 5 days. The greatest effect is seen after about 1 to 2 weeks.

How long will it last?
3 to 6 months depending on each individual’s own response. Repeat treatments have been shown to last longer.

Will it 'freeze my face' and leave me expressionless?
No, definitely not. Our training enables us to minimize any possible loss of facial expression by injecting specific muscles responsible for the wrinkles.

Are there any after-effects from line and wrinkle smoothing injections?
Our highly-qualified doctors will ensure that there are no side-effects aside from occasional bruising that may occur.

Can I combine other treatments with line and wrinkle smoothing injections?
Wrinkle treatment works especially well when combined with other non-surgical treatments such as facial fillers like restylane and juvederm. It can also be used after cosmetic surgery to help keep wrinkles away. See our Facial Fillers.
