Cosmedics Skin Clinics based in London and Bristol plan to be one of the first UK companies to offer new Kybella injections for treating double chin and fat beneath the chin.
The treatment offers a new solution for patients with mild to moderate fatty deposits in this difficult area, being non-invasive and a much cheaper and safer option than surgical alternatives such as liposuction or chin lift.
How Kybella Works
Using a series of injections into the fatty deposits beneath the chin, Kybella works by breaking down and destroying the fat cells for a smoother and slimmer profile. The product contains deoxycholic acid, which is produced naturally in the body and acts on fat.
90%+ Results after 2 years
Based on trials, manufacturers Kythera Biopharmaceuticals Inc said that over 90% of those who tried the drug had maintained a meaningful reduction of fat after two years.
FDA Approved
On 29th April 2015, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Kybella as a treatment for adults with moderate-to-severe fat beneath the chin.
Manufacturers Kythera Biopharmaceuticals has not announced the price of the product and says that it should become available during late summer.
