Restylane and Juvederm are the market leaders in the field of cosmetic injection treatments known as ‘Facial Fillers’. Facial skin treatments like Restylane are ideal for removing the wrinkles and lines from the skin on the face and are particularly useful for:

Restylane is a natural clear gel that is injected into the skin to replace the hyaluronic acid that is lost as the skin ages. It is perfectly safe and has been used for many years for facial rejuvenation. Occasionally we use Perlane for deeper lines and folds, particularly in men. Procedure
Facial Filler Treatment
After your consultation with the doctor, a mild anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for your comfort. The dermal filler / restylane is then injected into the skin below the wrinkle. Occasionally we use a local anaesthetic to numb the area. It only takes between 15 and 30 minutes in the expert hands of our doctors.
Following a Facial Filler Ttreatment
The results are instant. Most patients have some redness and swelling following the restylane treatments although this usually resolves after a few hours. Make-up can be applied immediately after a dermal filler treatment and you can go straight back to work.
How long will a dermal filler treatment last?
You will probably not need to have another treatment for around 4 to 6 months. After this time you can revisit the one of Cosmedics London or Bristol restylane clinics for a top up.
A great advantage of a facial filler like restylane is that the treatments are long-lasting, but not permanent, which gives you the option to reassess your needs once the initial effects have worn off.

Who will Facial Fillers (Restylane) benefit?
Facial Fillers like restylane are an ideal treatment for anyone who has concerns about the lines or furrows from their nose to mouth area, crow's feet (lines around the eyes) or lines around the mouth. Many patients also choose to have this treatment to plump up thin lips, restoring a nice youthful look. Patients who would like to redefine and soften the contours of their face also turn to dermal fillers as the results are so natural and subtle.
What range of Facial Fillers do we use?
There are lots of different dermal fillers; each has different benefits and effects.
Restylane and Perlane - these are our most popular alternatives to collagen replacement therapy and do not require an initial 28-day skin test. Restylane and Perlane are dermal fillers consisting of a non-animal clear gel that will help smooth your wrinkles and folds and create contours. It can also be used to provide lip enhancement if required. Restylane and Perlane will generally remain in the treated area for some months following your treatment, giving it natural-looking volume and contours. Restylane is used for fine lines whilst Perlane is used for deeper wrinkles and folds.
Juvederm Ultra - another natural facial line filler with the advantage of built-in anaesthetic for a more comfortable experience. It does not last as long as restylane but does give a softer look and is particularly useful for our younger patients.
Sculptra - designed to help alleviate unwanted lines and wrinkles, leaving your face feeling both smoother and firmer as well as younger-looking. It is based on Poly-L-actic acid which, when injected into a line or wrinkle, not only fills out the area but also starts to stimulate natural production of new collagen. So, in addition to minimising the wrinkle, you also benefit from a continued natural restructuring process for months after completion of your treatment. A series of treatments is recommended over a 12-week period. Results are visible usually after 2 sessions but 3 sessions are recommended for best effect. The results can last up to 3 years. Are the injections painful?
No, as doctors do all the treatments we are able to use local anaesthetic injections which allow the treatment to be pain-free and comfortable.
How long will it take to administer Facial Fillers (Restylane)?
Depending on the area treated, approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
What results can I expect from Facial Fillers (Restylane)?
The results will be immediate. Your skin will be smoother and younger-looking. Once any swelling has subsided the results will be subtle and pleasing. See our before and after results.
Are there any after-effects from Facial Fillers (Restylane)?
With dermal fillers there can be redness, swelling and bruising, which is normal and which does subside.
Can I go straight back to work?
Yes. There will be a little redness, slight swelling and occasionally a small bruise that may last 1 to 2 days. These can all be covered with make-up.
Can it be used with Botox®?
Yes, sometimes to create the best effect they can be used together.
